Last Week in Bayern News
Sunday
Miroslav Klose is all set to join Hans-Dieter Flick’s coaching staff in training at the end of July. However, Klose will stay in Munich to take care of the new signings who are not eligible for the CL. Wonder what things will he teach Sané and co. in that time frame, eh?
There were rumors of Bayern facing Leverkusen in a friendly as part of training for the Champions League, however these rumors died no later than they had been conceived in the rumor mills of tabloid land. We’re really happy Frankfurt isn’t the one we are facing.
Vacation is over, we have a schedule to maintain and a treble to win.
Monday
A reminder of what the schedule for this week looks like:
In other news, Robert Lewandowski has been voted best outfield player and Manuel Neuer best goalkeeper in the just conluded Bundesliga season by 270 of his fellow players in a traditional Kicker survey. I mean, is this even news by now?
In a week that succeeds another one full of transfer rumors everyone in Bayern’s locker room agreed that fighting for the Champions League Trophy that has eluded the club for the past seven years takes precedence over everything else. As Metallica would have put it: Nothing else matters.
Cuisance, you madlad. You predicted this a week ago, didn’t you?
Oh also, the Ballon d’Or will not be awarded this year to any player. Just in case you still care about individual awards in a team sport.
Tuesday
Training week is on, including the new signings. Check
The corona tests carried out for all Bayern players were negative. Check
Defender Lars Lukas-Mai has extended his contract by one year until 2023 and will also join SV Darmstadt 98 on loan for the 2020/21 season. Step up to the 2nd Bundesliga, check. Youth system rehaul for Flicki Flacka, check.
Wednesday
No kidding, Manu. It’s certainly not comfortable to face you in a CL KO match.
Sane and Brazzo finally talk about the whole transfer saga. Key takeaways: he knows the pressure that comes with stepping into Arjen Robben’s footsteps at Bayern, feels appreciated as a part of the Bayern family and gives us a piece of his mind as to why Bayern Munich was the club he had to play for to take the next step in his career as a winger.
One interesting takeaway from this interview was how Joshua Kimmich pushed for Sane’s coming to Bayern throughout the time this saga lasted and that he was key to how perfectly things have turned out today. Kimmich, a leader of men indeed.
Thursday
Säbener Strasse is alive again. Never have I ever……been this lively.
You feel full of life, too, don’t you?
Servus, Leroy.
Friday
Miroslav Klose is set to take care of all four of the players who cannot travel to Lisbon for the Champions League. We are 100% convinced Kouassi is going to have a very strong heading technique, come next Hinrunde.
More training videos to get some of that life energy back.
We agree, NFL Canada. What can’t this guy do?
Saturday
We are a little confused with Bayern’s new away kit. Is it more orange than we think with pastel grey shoulders, or more white and tinges of grey with orange accents? Please help us resolve this dilemma in the comments.
See what we mean?
Yeah, we’re still confused with that away kit.
To think that it’s already been two years. Tradition dictates we share this clip every 25th July.
As expected, Sané is faster than all the others on the pitch. Manu and Nubel appear to be getting along just fine, too.
The system has already been in the works for months now, the levers are in place and the gears in motion. We can’t wait for this well-oiled machine to steamroll everyone on the road to a historic treble. Mia san mia.
