Round-Up & Link-List: Wiesn & 1. FC Köln
Just like the relationship between Bayern and HSV, the history between Bayern and 1. FC Köln is long and was rich in variety, but has become a bit monotonous in the last two decades. The track record looks very good for Bayern since 2000, with a series of five winless games between 2009 and 2011 mixed in between. Nevertheless the 2-3 in February 2011 was the last time Bayern dropped points against Köln and they won the matchups by two goals on average.

Mini Köln preview
Based on Lukas analysis the whole game between Bayern and Köln will take place in the half of Köln. Köln is the team with the deepest position while defending and Bayern is the team that pushes farthest up the pitch while attacking. We’ll see how that will unfold on Saturday.

Atlético recaps
On ESPN Dermot Corrigan highlights three aspects in the Bayern loss in Madrid: Simeone > Ancelotti, Carrasco > Torres, Bayern lack cutting edge. Raphael Honigstein identifies a “mish-mash that currently lacks identity” and further work for Ancelotti to make Bayern his team.
Even magic has to be trained
Thiago’s Hollywood pass leading to Ribery’s assist for the late winner against HSV looked like he plugged it out of thin air, but that’s far from the truth. It’s a move that Thiago has repeatedly trained, as can be seen in this little clip by Jens Schuster:

Golden Boys
The Italian sports paper Tuttosport has published its list of the top under 20 players for 2016 and it features two Bayern players: Kingsley Coman and Renato Sanches. The ESPN staff assessed their chances. The last player who played in the Bundesliga and won the title was Mario Götze in 2011.
The man – the myth
In last week’s edition we recommended Crisian Nyari’s appearance in the 100th edition of the Rekord Pod podcast over at Bayern Central. They used their chance to follow up the podcast with an interview with one half of Bayern’s twitter account and member of Bayern’s New York office.
