Looking Towards the Future

Marc Separator June 1, 2020

Changes

In the coming weeks and months, you will notice a vast change in how we go about things here in regards to the English content. Where we have largely translated articles in the past from the German side, we will be looking to provide more original content.

What does this mean in practice? First of all we will not completely abandon translations. Some of the articles, for instance the match previews will likely be translated assuming the timing is reasonable. Some content is also simply too good or important not to share. However, we would like to begin to tailor our content to fit the people who are actually consuming it which means writing articles in English for that audience.

Your Help

In that spirit, we would also like to hear from you. You can reach out to us on any of our social media platforms or in the comment section of this post regarding how you would like to see us evolve and any ideas you might have regarding:

  • Articles
  • Topics
  • Content
  • Formats

In addition to that, we are also looking for potential contributors to the site. If you are interested in writing about your favorite club for our blog, please contact us by any of the means mentioned above.

We have some ideas of our own for how this content may look and what form(s) it may take but we are open to all suggestions. Our goal is to continue to provide you with what we consider to be high quality content while finding a style and format that is attractive to our audience.

We would also love to hear from all of you on a more regular basis. We want this to be a forum where we communicate with each other and have discussion about the club that we all love. The more interactions we have the better we can get at providing you with the content that you would like to see.

A Brighter Future

With all of this in mind, we hope that you will bear with us while we are going through this transition. There may be times where we struggle to get content out as regularly as in the past but we are hoping that by the start of the next Bundesliga season, we will have a steady stream of content for you.

Thank you to all of our readers and especially to those who interact with us on social media and in the comment section. We are grateful for each of these interactions and hope that you will stick with us while we transition to what we believe will be a better version of ourselves.

  3. I’m a fan of Miasanrot, it’s one of the best Bayern-relevant blog that I know so obviously I visit the site frequently, especially before and after a Bayern match. I don’t know if you have statistics, but I’m certain the number of visit should be much bigger than the comments shown.

To be honest I’m fine with reading translated articles, because the topics are usually what I’m interested in (Tactics, match analysis, round table opinion etc), I understand the hard (and boring) part of doing translation, and also its tenderness to be delayed though. If there will be dedicated English content it would be even better.

I wish there are much more to come, and I want to say thank you again to the editorial team for your great work!

For now, uhm, can we maybe have the English version of the Bayer-Bayern match tomorrow ;-)

    Cheers!

    1. Hi Hien!
Thank you as always for your comment. Our views are certainly higher than the comments, or we would have likely given up a long time ago! However we do feel like we could do better and providing more dedicated English content is how we intend to achieve this. We will still translate some of the work from the German site, however we would like to focus on providing articles written for this audience rather than the German side.

One of our goals is to not let the standard slip. I cannot guarantee that we will be quite as technical regarding the tactical breakdown and analysis, however we will still aim to provide this type of content as well. The round tables will remain, and please always feel free to leave your questions for us.

I’m not sure what the status of the preview translation is unfortunately. It will definitely not be available prior to tomorrow if do get it out. Sorry for any disappointment. Thank you again for sticking with us and please let us know if you have any other comments, questions or suggestions.

      1. Good morning Marc, 1 point to mention or I will forget again. Before the winter break, I remember reading an article about our amateur team, and the conclusion was, though the results were good, they were also inconsistent and there was a lack of a distinct tactical philosophy, and coach Sebastien Hoeness had not yet proved he was up to the task.

Now fast forward to present, the team has been having an incredible start from when the 3rd Liga restarted, they may even technically win the tournament. Do you think it’s worth continue that discussion? I would be very interested.

A big fan of what you all do. Sports journalism/blogs in the states are full of folks battling to make the most provocative statement. I enjoy learning and thinking about what I’m consuming and you all provide ways for me to do just that.
I really like the look and feel of your site.
I have one ask, and that is for additional ways to get questions to the mailbag. I’m too old for twitter.
    Thanks

    1. Thank you for your comment! I can assure you that we have no intention of joining that type of content race.

Regarding the mailbag, we recognize this as a flaw. Just as an FYI, you can also leave a comment on any article or on Facebook. We do our best to remember to go back and look at the comment’s for questions as well. Admittedly, I have not been great about posting for questions on Facebook because we have not received any questions to date from there. Is there another method that would work better for you? We will discuss internally and try to come up with another way of asking for questions but any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

via comment box makes the most sense for me as a social media-phobe.
