Round-Up & Link-List: Bayern’s history against HSV
HSV = blowout, Volksparkstadion = away win. That’s the equation of the relationship between FC Bayern and HSV. As far back as in the 60s the founding member of the Bundesliga received some heavy beatings by the team from Munich. The 70s started with 2-6 wins for Bayern, but HSV turned the tide with Felix Magath, Willi Reimann & Co. to win 5-0 in 1977. In the following years, the two teams had a close race for the Bundesliga title. Between 1978 and 1985 Bayern won five games, lost six, and drew five. After that, Bayern took control of the series again and HSV has managed only nine home wins since the mid-80s.
Volksparkstadion found its place in Bayern’s chronicle in 2001, when Bayern stopped Schalke’s four minutes of championship celebrations with their late goal in Hamburg. In the following years, a Rafael van der Vaart-led HSV became almost a bogey team for the Reds, but that period has long since been gone. 6-0 and 5-0 in 2011, 9-2 in 2013, 0-5 in Hamburg in 2014, 8-0 and 5-0 in 2015. HSV, you better watch out, you better not cry, Bayern is coming to town…

Tinja-Riikka Korpela is not alone
Unlike the current situation in the male section of football, it is not an absolute taboo anymore to speak about one’s sexual orientation in women’s football. The times they are a-changing. The goalkeeper of Bayern Munich’s women’s first team, Tinja-Riikka Korpela, addressed this topic in an interview for athletecrush.com in which she talks about growing up believing that she was the only gay female football player.
#askKimmich
Joshua Kimmich had a pretty decent September, with goals for club and country. Unsurprisingly, he is included in various teams of the week and/or talent radars. He also sat down for interviews with Raphael Honigstein, talking about Pep Guardiola’s impact on the Premier League and his ambitious upbringing.
Kick it with Beckham
In the summer, Bayern Munich got in touch with a lot of professional athletes from the big American sports leagues during their US trip. Odell Beckham Jr., NFL wide receiver for the NY Giants and the guy who made “the greatest catch of all time”, made the trip to Munich to visit Alaba and Alonso at the Säbener Straße. In an NFL feature he reveals that up to his teenage years he was also an active football/soccer player in the US.
Congratulations to Rekord Pod
The guys at bayerncentral.com recorded their 100th Rekord Pod podcast and they had none other than Cristian Nyari as their guest, one half of Bayern’s US twitter account.

You probably exactly remember where you were when Robert Lewandowski scored FIVE GOALS IN NINE MINUTES. In case you missed it, even by just getting a beer from the kitchen, here is the chance to enjoy the whole 9 minutes (if you don’t live in Germany).
