Round-Up & Link-List: Bayern’s history against FC Ingolstadt
In the years after the refounding of FC Ingolstadt in 2004 the club had to move through the lower divisions, oftentimes facing the Bayern Amateurs. They won three out of six games, with one draw and two defeats. In their last encounter in 2010 Mehmet Ekici scored the only goal of the game to seal the win for the Bayern Amateur’s.
The first teams first faced each other in 2011, in the second round of the DFB Pokal Ingolstadt took a beating. If Bayern would not have fielded a starting XI with many rotation players, the 6-0 victory could have even been higher. Thus Nils Petersen scored a brace and two players had some kind of debut, Hans-Jörg Butt as the team’s captain and Takashi Usami with his first goal for Bayern. The playing field was a lot more even last season when Ingolstadt came to the Allianz Arena in their first Bundesliga season. Bayern’s 2-0 home win and the 2-1 away win were much contested games and Bayern had to thank Manuel Neuer for his performances in these games. With the 2-1 away win in Ingolstadt Bayern secured their 4th Bundesliga title in a row.

Schalke recap
Mark Thompson finds some prosaic words to describe the Bundesliga win against Schalke 04 – Love wins out in the end.
Need for rebuilding?
Based on Tom Worville’s Bundesliga age breakdown Bayern Munich’s squad looks balanced with a slight tendency to players who have grown out of the peak age corridor, but the squad is filled with as many talents that will hit their peak in the upcoming years. Good job Mr. Reschke.

Kahn’s tragedies
Oliver Kahn has had a remarkable career. He lifted almost every trophy and received almost any individual award that was handed out, but he was also part of bone shattering (last minute) defeats in the biggest games of his career. Let Tom Mason lead you through the many highs and the devastating lows of Kahn’s career.
Ultras take a stand for refugees
During the game against FK Rostov the “Schikeria” presented a tifo displaying their solidarity with the pro refugee protesters at the Sendlinger Tor in Munich.

Alonso is talking tactics
Why do we recommend a video about the Manchester derby from last weekend? Because Xabi Alonso is in it, standing in front of a tactic board together with Jamie Carragher and talking about offensive and defensive tactics. Very interesting.
Don’t let the trolls win
FC Bayern’s US twitter account is famous for their “savage” replies and banters with rival clubs, but when Bayern Munich’s women’s team gets trolled, the fun is over (or has it just begun?).
